Our Coast, Our Future
Help Shape What Comes Next

Our coast is part of everyday life in Dalyellup - a place to walk, swim, gather, relax and connect. Like much of Western Australia, the Shire of Capel coastline is impacted by erosion (a loss of beach sand, dunes and vegetation), and areas near Capel River may also be impacted by inundation (flood from sea water).
The Shire of Capel has received a $1 million funding commitment from the WA Government thanks to the support of Hon Stephen Dawson MLC Minister for Regional Development and Hon Don Punch MLA Minister for South West, along with the South West Development Commission, for their continued advocacy for regional communities and essential coastal infrastructure. The funding is an election commitment.
The project is expected to contribute to the local and regional economy by enhancing Dalyellup’s appeal as a place to live, visit and invest. The South Dalyellup Redevelopment Project focuses on place-based design and accessibility for the area directly around the Surf Life Saving Club. This project explores how the area around the Surf Life Saving Club could be redesigned to improve safety, accessibility and amenity.
Residents are now invited to provide feedback and help shape the preferred concept design at two separate community collaboration drop-in sessions.
That’s where you come in...
