Our Coast. Our Future

Two Opportunities to Help Shape Dalyellup Foreshore

The Dalyellup coastline is more than just a destination, it’s part of everyday life. A place for morning walks, ocean swims, family picnics and sunset unwinds.

But like much of Western Australia, our coastline is changing. Erosion is impacting beaches, dunes and vegetation, and areas near the Capel River may face future inundation.

So what happens next?

The Shire of Capel is inviting the community to help shape the future of this important coastal space through two upcoming drop-in sessions. Each session focuses on a different but connected piece of the bigger picture.

Session 1: Foreshore Planning & Coastal Management

📅 Wednesday 15 April 2026
Drop-in anytime between 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
📍 Dalyellup Community Centre

This session brings together two connected projects:

  • Foreshore Management Plan – guiding how the coastline will be protected and managed over the next 10–15 years
  • Coastal planning informed by CHRMAP – helping us understand long-term coastal risks over the next 100 years

Drop-in anytime between 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
📍 Dalyellup Community Centre

This session focuses on the redevelopment of the area around the Dalyellup Surf Life Saving Club, exploring ways to improve:

✔️ Safety

It’s about creating a space that works better for locals, visitors and future generations.

Your Voice Matters

At both sessions, we’re inviting you to share:

🌊 ENJOYMENT – What you love most about the foreshore

🌱 ASPIRATIONS – What you’d like to see in the future
CONCERNS – Questions or challenges you’ve noticed

Why Get Involved?
